My History
As told by MU-Pitfighter

I first played Quake in April of 97. I had gotten the shareware cd from a friend, so after I installed Doom, I decided to try Quake, I had heard lots of good things about it. After playing for about 45 mins. single player and listening to goofy Trent Reznor's music, I stopped playing, and went to search for the Quake mods I had heard were so amazing. Meanwhile I let my two neighbors, DarkThug and Kiwibird, borrow the shareware cd to grab the games they wanted. I downloaded this mod called Capture The Flag, with Gamespy and QWCL to go with it. Welp quite simply this mod owned, and I played CTF for about a month.

One day in May I was playing basketball with DarkThug and Kiwibird's little brother, and they were talking about how they had found a Quake multiplayer mod which sounded really cool after listening to them talk about it for like 2 hours. They were describing how they set "detpaks" and used pipebombs and how fun it was. The mod was called Team Fortress and I decided to give it a try. After the massive TF download, I bound all the keys I would need in my config file, and set out using qplug to find a server. I was amazed at all the players qwcl could have! I soon found a good server, Clan Cannibals TF 2.5A, which would be a good place to work on my TF skillz. I always either played demoman or sniper back then, it was the thing to f13r on pub servers. I soon was getting destroyed by people like deadmanwalking and Duffs|GT, who seemingly dropped by to kick my ass and leave.

Also my ping sucked very much, as I was playing on a Mwave modem on a P150 Aptiva. But, I steadily improved a bit, and one day I was recruited by Speedy{LoA} into {LoA}, Legion Of Anarchy. I recruited my neighbor, Darlthug into LoA too. Speedy showed me the wonders of Gamespy and ICQ, and soon gay qplug was deleted. LoA was a newbie clan, and unfortunately died in 2 weeks. But LoA scrimmed =SD= on numerous occasions, and I met =SD=Surfdog at the time, who went on to kinda become a "role model" in my TF career, because he kicked me and DarkThug's asses as a damn scout.

I decided to tryout for =SD= after LoA broke up. But at the time I was pretty stupid and didn't think ahead, and I wounded up trying out for Iron and SD at the same time. I made both clans, and both leaders didn't mind too much, so I was =SD=[Iron]PitFighter. Those clans were my first time in an organized playing clan, and I had loads of fun. Now around this period, UN had beaten the fearsome OSKI, and I had seen the demo. My first impression was, "Look at all those soldiers!" Yes, it seemed like soldiers was the way to go. I switched classes from demo/snipe to mainly soldier and I stuck with it.

The month was now around October, and I quit =SD= because of personal reasons. I would soon leave [Iron] because of time constraints. My grades in school were going bad, and TF didn't help. Then I met these [A] fellows on a pub server. They were friendly, and I learned a lot more about soldier from the likes of [A]Charj and [A]eXtreme(aka Yagami). I soon tried out, and made it into [A]valanche. I liked it in [A] ; they were a weekend only clan so I could make all the matches. They were also very good, composed of Yag, Charj, Geepers, Minuteman, Speedy, and some people who played under pseudonyms ;p

Around late December, I saw an ad on TF Clans(run by Meathook at the time and a long time before) from Digital Jedi[JK], saying he would restart JK and was looking for players. I respected DJ a lot ever since the ass raping he gave me on that sniper only map (what was it called?) and I e-mailed DJ and got in. It was that time I started idling in IRC, in #rampage2000 and #jediknights. Now mind you UN and ST had formed IC a week before I joined JK, so things were kinda chaotic. JK scrimmed UN, with Digital Jedi and Cap_ego (or Mr_Ruf) sniping. JK won. Unfortunately, due to the fact that DJ would lose his T1, JK soon disbanded.

I went to Zeo and Ridi of UN and asked for a tryout, because UN was the 2nd most clan I hung with at the time. I became UNr and in 2 weeks I reached full UN status. It was in UN I learned more about IRC and the people on it, and became good friends with Zeo (now Abattoir[M]), Ridi and Kuda (the sluttiest keyboarder medic in the world ;p) and others.

During this time I would play on UVM Private a lot. I met Grifter and lots of other UVM's, and would spend lots of time fragging it up as soldier. Because of these frag sessions with good people, my soldier skill improved quite a bit, and I became friends with Grif and others. I also realized that, algorithm[uvm] was the true soldier god. It was also at that time I met another person who would be very influential in my behavior on IRC, Redrum. He would soon become my son.

The time kept passing by. It was now April, and UN was slowly falling apart. I left a couple days before the final disbanding and joined Wolvesmoon. Wolvesmoon was very organized, and I didn't realize a clan could send over 60 emails a day ;p I was in WM for over 6 months, and I enjoyed all of it. But during this time I was hanging out in #brb and then #greyskull, and met such people as Amok and MystDragon and 'once again met' such people as Surfdog and Smith69 and other sluts, such as Grifter and the chesasluts which I played with lots of times. #BrB and #greyskull became my favorite channels due to reasons which shall remain secret. During this time, school has restarted, and I could no longer keep up with WM's rigorous match schedule. During Thanksgiving Break of 98, I resigned from WM, thinking to retire from TF once and for all. However, as I have realized time and time again, I would rather play TF than not. So I joined Masters of The Universe (MU), composed of many peeps I have played with for a long time. Come to #greyskull on Gamesnet and say hi sometime. Don't be afraid of the people there, remember when in doubt; they're probably gay.

Sincerely,
MU-PitFighter
